Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide Exadata Administrators guidelines for deploying Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.2) on an Exadata Database Machine for the purpose of database migration to the Exadata platform and then upgrade to a higher supported version.
Setting up 11.2.0.2 Database on Exadata platform at this point should only be done for the purpose of migration and must be limited to a short period of time. An upgrade to a supported release must take place within 3 months of the migration.
Oracle Database 11g Release 2 version 11.2.0.2 support has ended and running 11.2.0.2 Database by adopting this note does not change support status.
Note: The error correction support for 11.2.0.2 Patch Set has expired. Oracle recommends upgrading to Oracle Database Patch Set release 11.2.0.4 or higher supported version. For more details on supported Database releases and availability of 11.2.0.4 Patch Set refer to document:- Release Schedule of Current Database Releases <Document 742060.1>
Scope
This document is intended for Exadata Administrators wanting to install and configure 11.2.0.2 RDBMS Software and setup databases for migration to the Exadata platform and then upgrade to a later supported version of the RDBMS.
