Symptoms
Pro*Cobol delete program receiving error ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure
Pro*Cobol program executing on z/OS 10.2 Client and connecting to an Oracle 11.2.0.4 database on an AIX server;
The function of the program is to delete rows from the parent table and all it's related (children) tables.
The program or process appears to complete and on closing the cursors receives the error - ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure.
This program runs on a monthly basis and this is the 3rd time the program has ABEND'ed in the last year.
