Symptoms
After renaming a RAC database instance (mydb_1->db1, mydb_2->db2) at the database level, getting the following errors during the update of the registered instance resources in the OCR:
$ srvctl remove instance -i mydb_1 -d mydb
srvctl remove instance command is not supported for configuration using server pool.
srvctl remove instance command is not supported for configuration using server pool.
$ srvctl add instance -d mydb -i db1 -n my_node1
PRCD-1051 : Failed to add instance to database mydb
PRCD-1045 : Database mydb is policy managed and does not support add instance option
PRCD-1051 : Failed to add instance to database mydb
PRCD-1045 : Database mydb is policy managed and does not support add instance option
