A Decommissioned Server Does Not Show Up in the Cloudera Manager Hosts Tab And the Difference Between the Two "Hosts" Tabs in CM (Doc ID 2166457.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 02, 2020

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.1.0 and later
Linux x86-64

The problem is a decommissioned server not showing up in Cloudera Manager, making it impossible to add it back into the cluster.

Navigating in CM: Home > <CLUSTER_NAME> > Hosts, does not show the decommissioned host on the "All Hosts" page. Neither is the decommissioned host visible on the "Decommissioned" list.

Other symptoms include:

a) The CM agent is running on the decommissioned server.

b) Restarting the agent on that server with either of the below does not help:

shows the node was present but the HOST_IDENTIFER as "NULL".
