Purpose

This article provides a step-by-step guide for setting up generic connectivity using ODBC to access to an Oracle Rdb database.

Generic Connectivity, formerly known as Heterogeneous Services (HSODBC), has been replaced by the 11g Database Gateway for ODBC (DG4ODBC).
