UPGRADE CATALOG FAILS RMAN-06429: RCVCAT Database Is Not Compatible With This Version Of RMAN (Doc ID 2173317.1)

Symptoms

After upgrading database tried to update catalog and got the following errors.

RMAN-03002: failure of configure command at 08/06/2016 11:00:25
RMAN-06429: RCVCAT database is not compatible with this version of RMAN
RMAN> 2> 3> 4> 5> 6> 7> 8> 9> 10> 11> 12> 13> 14> 15> 16> 17> 18>
PL/SQL package RMAN.DBMS_RCVCAT version 12.01.00.02 in RCVCAT database is too new
RMAN must be upgraded to version 12.01.00.02 to work with this package
PL/SQL package RMAN.DBMS_RCVCAT version 12.01.00.02 in RCVCAT database is too new
RMAN must be upgraded to version 12.01.00.02 to work with this package
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-03002: failure of allocate command at 08/06/2016 11:00:25

Recovery Manager complete.
