Symptoms
Max "inodes" was hit in /var/tmp/.oracle (network socket files) after upgrading from 11.2.0.4 to 12.1.0.2.
A file is created for every external procedure extproc session that times out and these socket files are not cleaned up in 12.1.0.2 in a standalone DB non-Grid environment.
The large number of files caused a production outage when maximum inodes was hit.
