Symptoms

NFS version 4 implementation fails on existing Database installation

Migrating NFS from version 3 to version 4 causes database issues on startup. Newly created 11.2 databases show no problem. No issue reported on new nor migrated 12c databases.

Despite following

Migration from NFSv3 to NFSv4 (Doc ID 457201.1)

to perform NFS migration, during startup 11.2 databases report:

ORA-00210 cannot open the specified control file
ORA-00202 control file : '/<full path >/control01.ctl'
ORA-27086 unable to lock file - already in use
Linux-x86-64 Error 9: Bad File descriptor
Additional information: 10
