How to Configure a BDA Server on an Existing CDH Cluster to Become a Mammoth Managed Edge Node on the Cluster (Doc ID 2177796.1)

Last updated on JULY 06, 2021

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.1.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Purpose

This note details the steps to configure a BDA server which is part of an existing CDH cluster to become an edge node on the cluster which will be managed by Mammoth. After the process described here, the node configured to be an edge node remains part of the cluster and will still be managed by Mammoth. In other words that node will be upgraded by a Mammoth upgrade.

This is supported on BDA V4.1 and higher.  BDA V4.1 is the first release supporting parcels which facilitates work on a cluster with an edge node.
