Why is an NFS Gateway Service Restart Required in Cloudera Manager to Prevent an Exported HDFS Mount from Hanging?

The goal here is to provide some troubleshooting tips on why an NFS Gateway service restart is required in Cloudera Manager in the sequence below:
1. An NFS gateway is set up on a BDA node.
2. A mount is exported (for example /test) from HDFS as an NFS filesystem.
3. After this "df -h" shows a hang on the /test mount point.
4. Only an NFS gateway service restart can prevent the hang.
