Purpose

The purpose of this article is to explain the definition and use of SQL 
correlated UPDATE statements.  These are statements that allow you to change
data in one table based on data in other tables using the clause EXIST.

 

Scope

This explanation of UPDATE statements is relevant to Oracle Server version 5.1 and all versions from 6.0 onwards.
