Purpose
Applying Patches is important as they improve the usability and performance. In addition to that, security vulnerabilities are fixed as well.
The Integrated Extract / Integrated Replicat (IE/IR) of Oracle GoldenGate (OGG) contain an Oracle RDBMS Server component (Logmining Server, Inbound Server) and a GoldenGate Core component. For this reason, both components OGG Core and RDBMS need to be taken into account for the patching procedure. Commonly, both components are separately patched. In the rare cases where there are dependencies between RDBMS/OGG Core patches, those are explicitly documented and highlighted.
Scope
This is for all intended users of Oracle GoldenGate with Oracle RDBMS Server (On-Premise environments)
