Last updated on AUGUST 23, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version to [Release 8.0.3 to 9.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Explanation of why you get ORA-14037 from a CREATE TABLE ... command to create a RANGE PARTITION table with composite
partition keys.

The partition key consists of two CHAR() columns in this example.

This document is intended for any audience with at least moderate level of
SQL skill and understanding of a partition table.

The example only deals with the range partition but it can be extended to other types of partitions with
composite keys if that also fails with the same ORA-14037 from a CREATE TABLE command.
