RMAN within RAC is Not Deleting Archivelog File Although Reporting the File as Deleted (Doc ID 2208630.1)

Symptoms

Archive files from newly added thread are not  deleted from file system although RMAN reports that they are deleted.

RMAN command:

Errors similar to below may be reported in /var/log/messages during execution of the RMAN delete archivelog command:

Nov 15 00:07:37 kernel: nfsd: request from insecure port (10.204.140.140:37635)!
Nov 15 00:08:40 kernel: nfsd: request from insecure port (10.204.140.140:39445)

 

Changes

Issue occurs after a node is added to the cluster.   Archive files of the other nodes are being deleted successfully.
