Last updated on JANUARY 12, 2020

Applies to:

Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance Software - Version 12.1.1.1.1 to 12.1.1.1.1
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In some situations, an Oracle database configured to backup to an Oracle Recovery Appliance might be registered with Oracle Internet Directory (OID).
The database's password-based credentials for authentication to Oracle Internet Directory are placed in a wallet and the wallet location is defined in the sqlnet.ora used by this database.
On the other hand, if the database is registered with the Recovery Appliance and performing real time redo log shipping, the VPC (Virtual Private Catalog) user credentials for authentication to the Recovery Appliance are placed in a wallet and the wallet location is defined in the sqlnet.ora used by this database.

This document explains how to include a Recovery Appliance VPC (Virtual Private Catalog) user credentials in an existing wallet used by a protected database registered with Oracle Internet Directory.
