Exadata: ASM diskgroup scrubbing does not repair corrupt blocks (Doc ID 2212910.1)

Symptoms

The new ASM diskgroup scrubbing feature introduced in 12c, fail to repair corrupt blocks in Exadata environment, the same may work fine in a non Exadata environment. The ASM alert log reports the corrupt block is found and scrubbed, but the block does not get repaired.
