Last updated on JANUARY 03, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Spatial and Graph - Version 11.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.4 [Release 11.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Spatial Deinstalled using Doc ID 1070647.1 - Deinstall Oracle Spatial while keeping Locator. However,  Spatial functions still seem to work. Specifically, the following.

SDO_GEOM.SDO_INTERSECTION

DBA_REGISTRY indicates that it has been removed:

Spatial 11.2.0.4.0 REMOVED

SQL> SELECT SDO_GEOM.SDO_INTERSECTION(SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY('POINT(1 2)'), SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY('POINT(1 2)'), 0.005) from dual;

SDO_GEOM.SDO_INTERSECTION(SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY('POINT(12)'),SDO_UTIL.FROM_WKTGEOMETRY('POINT(12)'),0.005)(SDO_GTYPE, SDO_SRID, SDO_POIN
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SDO_GEOMETRY(2001, NULL, NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1, 1), SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(1, 2))

According to the Oracle 11.2 Spatial Developer's Guide, Appendix B, the SDO_GEOM.SDO_INTERSECTION function is NOT included in Locator. It is listed in Table B-2 Spatial Features Not Supported for Locator. ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e11830/sdo_locator.htm#CFABACEA )
