Goal
- Does Oracle still support VSS as a valid backup mechanism?
- Are there any memory or other defects reported with the current version of the VSS engine (provider/writer, etc.) in those Oracle versions and if so what's being done to fix it?
- What's Oracle's longer term direction on VSS with these databases? We must use VSS with our Symantec System Recovery Server Edition 2013 backup tool standard to correctly quiesce/snapshot Oracle 10g/11g databases.
