Last updated on APRIL 08, 2020

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.4.0 to 4.7.0 [Release 4.4 to 4.7]
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

NOTE: In the examples that follow, user details, cluster names, hostnames, directory paths, filenames, etc. represent a fictitious sample (and are used to provide an illustrative example only). Any similarity to actual persons, or entities, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

In BDA Versions 4.4-4.7 The Cloudera Manager (CM) hive parameter hive.zookeeper.quorum is set incorrectly.

Instead of the three Zookeeper nodes being present in the list, two Zookeeper nodes are present, with the third being repeated twice.

In CM navigate: hive > Configuration > Search: hive.zookeeper.quorum

The correct setting for the hive CM parameter hive.zookeeper.quorum is to have the FQDNs for each of the three Zookeeper nodes like:

bdanode01.example.com,bdanode02.example.com,bdanode03.example.com

Instead see:

bdanode01.example.com,bdanode03.example.com,bdanode03.example.com
