Starting MySQL using 'mysql_multi' script is not working with binary distribution on MySQL 5.7.17 version

mysql_multi gives below error message:

2017-02-02T08:58:56.429344Z mysqld_safe The file /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld
does not exist or is not executable. Please cd to the mysql installation
directory and restart this script from there as follows:
./bin/mysqld_safe&

Changes

 From MySQL 5.7.17, mysqld_safe seems to be ignoring current working directory as per the update on Doc ID 2216474.1
