This document describes potential options for preventing the usage of Active Data Guard feature on initial startup, which has to be tested for each environment.
It does not guarantee that physical standby database is not started in read only mode, while MRP is running, by manual intervention.

Goal

Physical standby database on Window platform.

Each time, Windows server is restarted, the physical standby database is opened in read-only mode, while it should only be mounted.

How to prevent the physical standby database to open in read-only mode?
