Applies to:
Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.5.0 and later Linux x86-64
Goal
In some cases Cloudera Manager(CM) reports "Memory Overcommit Validation Threshold" warnings but the solution to ensure that memory allocated to all services on a server is less than the physical memory on the server (minus 20% for the OS overhead) as presented in: After Upgrade to Oracle Big Data Appliance V3.0.* a "Memory Overcommit Validation Threshold" Warning May Be Seen if Impala was Previously Installed (Doc ID 1672456.1), is not preferred. This could be due to heavy Impala usage for example. In such cases raising the 'Memory Overcommit Validation Threshold' is another option.
