Applies to:MySQL Server - Version 5.6 and later
MySQL fails to start after the following sequence of steps:
- Install MySQL
- Initialize MySQL (mysqld --initialize or mysql_install_db)
- Change the value of innodb_data_file_path in the MySQL configuration file.
- Attempt to start the mysqld service
If MySQL is started using systemd, the output from systemctl will be similar to:
MySQL's datadir was initialized and innodb_data_file_path was changed.
