Options for Handling A Huge Number of Files Accumulating in /var/log/hadoop-hdfs/audit on BDA V4.5 and Higher (Doc ID 2248867.1)

Symptoms

The symptom is that the number of files in the /var/log/hadoop-hdfs/audit directory grows dramatically. A new log file is generated about every 10 minutes. You can see the increase with:

Note: The Solution in: Huge Number of Files Accumulating in /var/log/hadoop-hdfs/audit on Directory on BDA V4.2/CDH 5.4. (Doc ID 2046942.1) is found to not fully apply to BDA V4.5/CDH 5.7 and higher because these versions do not have a Cloudera Manager navigator.audit_log_max_backup_index parameter to adjust.
