Cannot Startup Mysql Service (Doc ID 2262155.1)

MySQL OVM was the product in use.

Symptoms

On : MySQL OVM

Cannot startup mysql service


Customer said SELinux is disabled, but I haven't been able to verify it.
the Mysqld.err has nothing about the failure, it seems it stops updating itself.



ERROR
-----------------------
 ERROR! The server quit without updating PID file (/u01/app/oracle/mysql/data/mysqld.pid).


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Shut down mysqld
2. Modify the my.cnf and make a deliberate error and/or modify permissions to make file world readable
3. Attempt to start mysqld again

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot start service.

Changes

 The my.cnf file had been altered before the start attempt again.
