All DB instance including ASM on node 1 Crashed and failed To restart after Node 2 Compute Node (image) Patching and reboot (Doc ID 2267700.1)

Symptoms

Exadata compute nodes upgrade from 12.1.2.3.0.160207.3 (Kernel version: 2.6.39-400.276.1.el6uek ) to 12.2.1.1.0.170126 (Kernel version: 4.1.12-61.28.1.el6uek.x86_6)

First node (dbnode01) was upgrade a week back.

Right after second node (dbnode02) is being rebooted with upgrade completed, all the database instances including ASM crash on first node (dbnode01) crashed

 

 

Changes

compute node upgrade in rolling

Second node upgrade is completed and is rebooted

Before upgrade :

exadata Image version : 12.1.2.3.0.160207.3
image Kernel version : 2.6.39-400.276.1.el6uek

after upgrade

exadata Image version: 12.2.1.1.0.170126.2
Image kernel version: 4.1.12-61.28.1.el6uek
