Last updated on JANUARY 22, 2020

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.5.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

You can query data in Cloudera Manager (CM) using the CM API. It is possible to create a script to access the CM API and run queries and send email about the results.

This note provides general information on using Cloudera Manager's REST APIs to work with existing tools and to programmatically manage your Hadoop clusters. The API is available with Cloudera Enterprise and comes with open-source client libraries.

In the examples below bdanode03 represents the CM host which is on Node 3 of the cluster by default. Adjust as needed for your cluster.
