Last updated on JUNE 19, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Exadata Storage Server Software - Version 12.1.2.3.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Seems to have been implemented with a recent patch. Systems are on kernel 4.1.12-61.33.1.el6uek.x86_64, OEL 6.9.

After upgrading from 12.1.2.3.4, it was observed that those users for which the default shell was set to /bin/ksh in /etc/passwd got the following error when logging into an interactive shell session:

/etc/profile[51]: shopt: not found [No such file or directory]

Changes

This was noted after QFSDP applied - from January 2017 to April 2017 bundle.
