Goal

The ODA (Oracle Database Appliance) is the first engineered system to provide the TFA (Trace File Analyzer Data Collector) by default. The TFA is an automatic data collection and upload tool used to assist Oracle Support in Service request troubleshooting by collecting substantial diagnostic information across several key directories.  These key files are collected for a targeted time period matching the SR needs by issuing a few simple commands and then compresses these files trimming unnecessary information for upload to Oracle Support.  The Oracle Database Appliance does NOT use a downloaded version of the TFA. In fact, downloading and applying the stock TFA will break the TFA usage on the ODA. The TFA functionality is built into each and every patchset which is customized specifically for the ODA Version used! This note will provide simple usage examples for quick reference and usage.
