Symptoms

Connections from Oracle 12c to a MS SQL Server database, via Database Gateway for MSQL (DG4MSQL), which were working fine

suddenly fail with the SQL Server log stating that it is trying to connect to the wrong database.

ERROR at line 1:

ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:

[Oracle][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver]Socket closed. {08S01}[Oracle]
