How to Disable/Enable BDC with ODI When There is a Corrupt/Missing ODI Database Schema (Doc ID 2303055.1)

Last updated on JULY 10, 2021

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.5.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

In the case of a missing/corrupt ODI repository as described in: 'service odi-agent restart' Fails to Start the ODI Agent with "master repository did not contain a master repository" - the ODI Repository Store is Missing (Doc ID 2303507.1), it is necessary to disable and enable the Big Data Connectors to restore the ODI setup.  Generally enabling/disabling Big Data Connectors  is done by following: How to Add or Remove Big Data Connectors on Oracle Big Data Appliance v3.*, v4.* and Higher with bdacli (2101268.1).  However when the ODI repository is missing/corrupt disabling/enabling Big Data Connectors with "bdacli disable bdc"/"bdacli enable bdc" may fail with errors.  If that happens the steps here can be followed to completely clean up the ODI environment before disabling/enabling the connectors again.
