Opatchauto Does not Run Datapatch Against Single Instance Databases Running from RAC Database Home (Doc ID 2311963.1)

Symptoms

opatchauto does not run datapatch for Single Instance Databases(SIDBs) running out of Oracle RAC Database Homes.

However,opatchauto runs datapatch for RAC Databases

Both the SIDBs are registered with Clusterware.

[grid@<nodename1> ~]$ crsctl stat res ora.<dbname1>.db -p
NAME=ora.<dbname1>.db
CLUSTER_DATABASE=false
DATABASE_TYPE=SINGLE
DB_UNIQUE_NAME=<dbname1>
DEGREE=1
DELETE_TIMEOUT=60
DESCRIPTION=Oracle Database resource
ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME

[grid@racnode2 ~]$ crsctl stat res ora.<dbname2>.db -p
NAME=ora.<dbname2>.db
CLUSTER_DATABASE=false
TYPE=ora.database.type
DATABASE_TYPE=SINGLE
DB_UNIQUE_NAME=<dbname2>
DESCRIPTION=Oracle Database resource
ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME
