For the purposes of this document, the following fictitious environment is used as an example to describe the procedure:


Database Name: Standby
Global Service Manager: gsm3
directory= (/u01/app/oracle) and all subdirectories
SQL Net Service: TEST
Service Name: standby.gdspool.oradbcloud
Region: region1

 

 

[Order of process]
1) Implemented data guard
2) Configured gsm environment - configured a region which is named "region1" and opening it normally.
3) Configuring a new buddy region in addition
4) Configuring an additional gsm server which belong to buddy region
5) Client fails to connect to database via buddy region like below.
