Symptoms

Parallel SQL increases the Child Cursor if The SQL has CHAR BIND Variable with CASE expression Or UNION clause.

The following SQL can be used to verify the Version Count and Bind Mismatch Value:
select sql_id, hash_value, version_count from gv$sqlarea where sql_id = '<sql_id>';
select * from table(version_rpt('<sqlid>'));
