Fatal NI Connect Error 12679 in the alertlog after enabling encryption on the server side (Doc ID 2328858.1)

Symptoms

You see this error in the alertlog when you configure network encryption by adding the below in the sqlnet.ora   file.


SQLNET.CRYPTO_CHECKSUM_SERVER=REQUIRED
SQLNET.ENCRYPTION_SERVER=REQUIRED
SQLNET.ENCRYPTION_TYPES_SERVER=(AES256, RC4_256)

When you open the database you start receiving the below error message in alert log.

Fatal NI connect error 12679, connecting to:

(LOCAL=NO)
