Symptoms

An OCI application (12.1 or 12.2 OCI driver) connected to a 12.2 database consistently fails with the following error in the alert log:

 

This issue was not seen when connecting to a 12.1 database.

 

Changes

The database was upgraded to 12.2.0.1.
