Oracle Appliance Kit "OAKCLI" Syntax to be Deprecated on Bare Metal Configurations and ODA Lite configurations (Doc ID 2331398.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 16, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Database Appliance Software - Version to 18.1 [Release 2.1 to 12.2]
Linux x86-64

The OAKCLI ( Oakcl Appliance Kit) command line interface is being replaced on Bare Metal configuration by a new stack called DCS.

The DCS Stack uses new a architecture including new CLIs ODACLI and ODAADMCLI commands for all Bare Metal ODA hardware installations supported on 18.3 and higher.
Currently X6-2 Small, Medium and Large plus all X7-2 HA, Small and Medium servers already use ODA*CLI commands

Note: OAKCLI is still used on all ODA Virtualized Platform releases ( aka ODAVP)
* With the exception of Virtualized Image administration which is still executed using OAKCLI.

As part of planning for future releases users are advised to convert administrative scripts to use ODA*CLI and ODAADMCLI.
Privileges and permissions for the ODA*CLI commands are published in the Oracle Engineered Systems Documentation for the Oracle Database Appliance ..admin guide.. command line interface reference ...etc
