OUI crashes with error "A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment" on Solaris (Doc ID 2333811.1)

Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Symptoms

When attempting to install Oracle Database on Solaris 10 SPARC the following error occurs:

$ ./runInstaller
Starting Oracle Universal Installer...
