Last updated on OCTOBER 29, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Machine - Version N/A and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Database Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Backup Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When switching over using DATAGUARD BROKER in a RAC environment, the archived log gets written to local filesystem on one node of the standby db. It writes the archivelog file to $ORACLE_HOME/dbs. When the RAC instance is shutdown and restarted manually, it correctly writes to the ASM destination.
