How to Add or Remove Big Data SQL 3.2 on Hadoop Cluster Nodes (Doc ID 2336613.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 07, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Big Data SQL - Version 3.2.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Purpose

Big Data SQL must be installed on every cluster node where the DataNode role is running and should not be installed on other nodes. In the case of a Hadoop cluster shrinking by losing one or more nodes, or a Hadoop cluster expanding by adding one or more nodes Big Data SQL needs to be reconfigured so that it reflects the new cluster size. This note details steps to make these changes.

Please see Big Data SQL 3.2 versions see Oracle Big Data SQL Primary Compatibility Matrix (Doc ID 2119369.1) for the supported configuration combinations.  Additional information is also available in the Big Data SQL 3.2 Installation Guide.

Scope

Anyone interesting in re-configuring Big Data SQL 3.2 to accommodate a growing, or shrinking, cluster.
