Symptoms
- When gathering statistics information using DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS against a table, it can finish in short time
- But after adding a function-based index, DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS will cost much more time than before even CASCADE=> FALSE is specified:
DBMS_STATS.GATHER_TABLE_STATS(OWNNAME=>'<OWNNAME>', TABNAME=>'<TABNAME>', CASCADE=> FALSE);
