Cloudera Manager Reports the Impala Catalog Server In Bad Health with "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError"

Symptoms
Cloduera Manager reports the Impala Catalog Server is in bad health. In the case here this was observed after a Mammoth upgrade.
The Impala Catalog Server log on the node with Impala Catalog Server role, /var/log/catalogd/catalogd.ERROR, shows that the catalog server fails to start due to a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError error.
The log shows:
