Peformance Issues Seen in PL/SQL code With Mathematical Functions Like MOD/SQRT On SOLARIS SPARC (Doc ID 2343090.1)

PL/SQL - Version 11.2.0.3 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Issue is specific to SPARC based Operating Systems.

Symptoms

Slow performance of PL/SQL code when using the MOD, SQRT or similar mathematical functions in a loop on the SPARC machine compared to Intel x64 bit one. For example, when the below sample code is run on Solaris SPARC and other Unix/Linux you will see the difference in the run time.
