Newly Added Asm Disk Showing 0 GB (Total_MB) When Querying v$asm_disk View (Doc ID 2344250.1)

Symptoms

A new disk is added to asm, but the "Total MB" shown for the disk is 0 although "OS MB" is shown a non-zero value such as 524287.

SELECT GROUP_NUMBER, DISK_NUMBER, HEADER_STATUS, OS_MB, TOTAL_MB, FREE_MB, NAME FROM V$ASM_DISK ORDER BY GROUP_NUMBER, DISK_NUMBER;
