Symptoms

Real Application Cluster (RAC) homes is currently running in 2 nodes of cluster and needs to extend it to another node through addnode procedure.

Addnode fails with the below error while trying to extend RDBMS home:

SEVERE:Cannot perform add node procedure as the value of CLUSTER_NEW_VIRTUAL_HOSTNAMES or CLUSTER_NEW_NODES or both could not be obtained from the command line or response file(s). Silent install cannot continue.
