ORA-29509: Incorrectly Formed Java Binary Class Definition While Upgrading Database From 11G to 12.2 (Doc ID 2349696.1)

Symptoms

While upgrading Oracle database from 11.2.0.4 to 12.2.0.1 with following patch binaries applied to the target home ;
COMBO OF OJVM RU COMPONENT 12.2.0.1.171017 + DBRU 12.2.0.1.171017, upgrade fails with ORA-29509: incorrectly formed Java binary class definition.

Issue happens only if the patch is applied in the binary level and upgraded the DB from 11g to 12.2.0.1
