To check the integrity and consistency of the Berkeley database files using db_verify utility-

The db_verify utility verifies the consistency & integrity of one or more files and the databases they contain.
The db_verify utility does not perform any locking, even in Berkeley DB environments that are configured with a locking subsystem. As such, it should only be used on files that are not being modified by another thread of control. We cannot use Db->open to open a database that passes verification.
This may happen if a thread of control exits without releasing the locks on the database resources.Because db_verify doesn’t perform any locking, it won’t notice that the database resources are inaccessible.
