Goal
We will migrate an system off of Informix/HPUX to an Oracle 11i / Linux platform. In estimating the amount of storage we would like to know if there is a way to estimate the database sizing related to this type of conversion. For example, if the Informix database is currently 1.8T in size, what would be a decent estimate for planning purposes for the resulting Oracle 11i RDBMS size? Is it same/same, or does it take more (or less) disk to build the same system in Oracle?
