Remote TCPS SQL*Plus Connection using Failover Returns: ORA-12152: TNS: Unable To Send Break Message (Doc ID 2371879.1)

Symptoms

Some clients were unable to failover after a switchover. The following error occurred at the client:

ORA-12152: TNS: Unable to send Break Message

Other clients were able to connect successfully so the issue in this case was intermittent.

The client is using SSL encryption so the TCPS protocol was used.
