Grid Infrastructure Installation Fail in 12.2.0.1 For Standalone And RAC with libodm12.so: file format not recognized; treating as linker script (Doc ID 2373904.1)

Symptoms

On 12.2.0.1 version, Clusterware , when attempting to install Grid Infrastructure for Oracle Restart or Oracle RAC , the following error occurs.

gridSetupActions2018-03-12_04-17-03AM.log (inside <inventory location>/logs/GridSetupActions2018-03-12_04-17-03AM):

  
Error in invoking target 'irman ioracle' of makefile '/app/oracle/product/12.2.0.1/grid/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk'. See '/app/oracle/oraInventory/logs/GridSetupActions2018-03-12_04-17-03AM/gridSetupActions2018-03-12_04-17-03AM.log' for details.
As a root user, execute the following script(s):
1. /app/oracle/product/12.2.0.1/grid/root.sh
 

On Performing relink : 

/usr/bin/make -f $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk ioracle

/usr/bin/ld:/app/oracle/product/12.2.0.1/grid/lib//libodm12.so: file format not recognized; treating as linker script

/usr/bin/ld:/app/oracle/product/12.2.0.1/grid/lib//libodm12.so:1: syntax error

 

The same error is also seen in the $ORACLE_BASE/oraInventory/logs/GridSetupActions<timestamp>/gridSetupActions<timestamp>.log
